Questionnaire about God

My cousin Traci posted this questionnaire on her blog, and I think it's a good way to start off my own. I'm not entirely sure how this blog will go, I just know I need somewhere to record my thoughts about God, life, family & friends.

1) What people have been most significant in your relationship with the Lord this year, and why?

Jonathan-He's been there for me throughout my stuggle with God, we've both struggled together to make our relationship with the Lord stronger, we both want to become better Christians
Mom & Jeff-Since God brought Jeff into my mother's life, she has been happier and stronger in God than ever. Jeff is such an inspiration to me to do the right thing, to think like God, to be a better person. I continually go to both of them for advice when situations arise that my flesh wants to react to, but I know my spiritual side says I need to ask what Jesus would do.

2) What events have been significant to your relationship with the Lord and your spiritual growth this last year, and why?

God has truly blessed me this past year. He gave both Jon & I terrific jobs and promotions, he's been there for us endlessly when we needed him. He helped my father finally get a job with a full salary and benefits, on top of that a promotion. He watched over my father when he almost suffered a heart attack, he's kept my family, friends, and myself safe and healthy. He's tugged on my heart and helped me to keep changing to be a better Christian, to follow Him more.

3) What books has God used in your life this last year, and why were they important to you?
No particular book, but sermons from Pastor Mike Smith from CJax. I've never been pierced so deep from a sermon than when he preached. All my life, I listened to many sermons, but rarely applied them. Pastor Mike has a real gift from God, and I'm thankful for him and for God speaking through him.

4) Did you have a word and a verse this last year? If so, what were they?
Hebrews 2:12 "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

5) What are the most important principles you have learned from the Lord this last year?
"Every evening I turn my worries over to God. He's going to be up all night anyway."Mary C. Crowley
"What does it matter how much we do if what we're doing isn't what matters most?"Stephen Covey

6) What has God revealed to you about Himself this last year that has been most important to you?
That no matter what mistakes I make, He will never forsake me. I can't let my guilt or shame of my sins keep me from praying and talking to Him, I have to keep striving to be closer to God.
